weekday breakfast smoothie

2015-02-08_(h16m05s52)_IMG-9220_(Web_Max_800px_XY)on weekday mornings, we always have warm oat meal, one or two smoothies, raisins, homemade granola, dried berries and fresh berries or fruits as often as possible.  i like to have a fruit based smoothie and a green smoothie. it’s nice to have a repetoire of 5 or 6 favourite smoothies to choose from, especially on weekday mornings when we don’t have too much time.

this berry smoothie* has become a new favourite of ours. for 3-4 servings of berry smoothie you need:

1 cup almond milk

1/2  cup orange juice (not from concentrate)

2 ripe bananas

2 cups of frozen berries (i use a mix of raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, blackberry)

2 tbsp. flax seeds

3 servings of DHA+EPA oils  (we use this one)

b-12 drops

in the winter we also add vitamin d drops.

how to:

1. everything goes in the blender, but 1 cup frozen berries and the bananas. mix at high speed for 2 minutes.

2. add the last cup of frozen berries and the bananas, and blend again.

*this smoothie is best served right away, but can stay fresh in the fridge for about 8 hours.
